Amar’e Stoudemire Domestic Violence Charges Dropped

The charges against Amar’e Stoudemire stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident at his home in December have been dismissed … after prosecutors say the victim did not cooperate with the investigation. As we previously reported, STAT was accused of striking one of his teen daughters across the face at least twice. But the health 40-year-old adamantly denied the accusations … saying he would never lay a finger on another human being. The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office confirmed to CBS Miami on Tuesday, the charges related to the Dec. 2022 incident have been dropped “due to the failure of the victim to cooperate in the prosecution of the criminal case.” Stoudemire tells TMZ Sports … “A little over a month ago, my family’s world was turned upside down as I faced allegations that we all knew to be untrue – which I instantly and publicly denied.” “Today, I’m grateful that after a full investigation, all charges were dismissed. Fortunately, my family and most importantly, my incredible children are all doing well. My faith in the goodness we all possess has never wavered and has never been greater. My love for my family is without limits.” He continued … “I am appreciative of all the respect and support received from family, friends and colleagues. Now that this chapter is closed, I look forward to all the great moments ahead with my family.” Amar’e’s attorney, Alexander Fox, added … “After a full investigation, the case was dropped at failing to prove the false accusations. The court’s vindication of Mr. Stoudemire underscores who he is and always has been – a person of faith and integrity dedicated to his family and community.”

Black Hairdressers May Be at High Risk From Toxic Chemicals

By Amy Norton  HealthDay Reporter TUESDAY, Jan. 31, 2023 (HealthDay News) — Black and Hispanic women who work as hairdressers are exposed to an array of chemicals, including many that have not been previously identified, a small study finds.
Researchers found that compared with women of color in office jobs, hair stylists had higher levels of various chemicals in their urine. Those substances included expected ones — ingredients known to be in salon products — but also many more the researchers could not identify.
Experts said the findings underscore a need to better understand the chemical exposures inherent to salon work — and what the health effects could be.
There is particular concern for Black women and Hispanic women in the industry, according to senior researcher Carsten Prasse, an assistant professor of environmental health and engineering at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
Those women may have especially high exposure to chemical hair products like straighteners and dyes, because their clients often want those services.
Hair products, as well as a range of personal care products, commonly contain chemicals that are considered endocrine disruptors — meaning they may interfere with the body’s hormones. Studies have linked some of those products, including hair straighteners and dyes, to increased risks of breast, ovarian and uterine cancers in women who use them frequently. Some of the chemicals in personal care products may be familiar to consumers, such as parabens, pthalates and bisphenols. (Certain brands market themselves as being free of those chemicals.)
And when studies have attempted to delve into hairdressers’ chemical exposures, they have only tested for those usual chemical suspects.
“We wanted to open up the lens and see what else they’re being exposed to,” Prasse said.
So he and his team analyzed urine samples from 23 hairdressers and 17 office workers, all of whom were women of color. Instead of looking only for expected substances, the researchers used a screening method that has been employed to hunt for chemicals lurking in food and wastewater.
Overall, they found, hairdressers were exposed to more chemicals than office workers, including many that have not been previously reported in hair stylists. “With most of the compounds we identified, we don’t even know what they are,” Prasse said.
The researchers tried to identify possible sources of the chemicals, using a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency database. They found data on 13 of the compounds, and most were associated with hair or other personal care products. Some others were linked to cleaning products or air fresheners that may commonly be used in salons. So the researchers gaming think that most of the additional chemicals found in hairdressers’ urine likely came from the workplace.
The big question is: Are these chemicals a toxic brew?
Homer Swei is senior vice president of healthy living science for the nonprofit Environmental Working Group.
He said there’s no doubt there are many “harsh chemicals” used in salons. Yet little is known about the specific substances salon workers absorb through their skin or inhale — even in comparison to household personal care products.
“This area is sort of the forgotten child,” said Swei, who was not involved in the study.
He called the findings “a first step.” More research is needed to understand whether hairdressers are exposed to “too much” of these chemicals, and what the potential health impact could be, he said.
It could be easy to assume that the products people slather onto their bodies or apply to their hair are “safe.” But that would be a false assumption, Swei pointed out. The U.S. government does not require health studies or pre-market tests of chemicals used in personal care products. And while some products tout themselves as free of parabens or pthalates, for instance, those claims are not regulated, either, Swei said.
It’s an especially daunting challenge, both experts said, for salon workers to protect themselves from chemical exposures. So it’s critical to understand what is in the products they habitually use, and whether they carry health risks.
That could lead to the development of better products, Prasse said.
According to the researchers, there are roughly 700,000 hairdressers in the United States. More than 90% are women and almost one-third are Black women or Hispanic women. And there’s another layer, Prasse pointed out: Many work in those jobs while pregnant — as did half of the hairdressers in this study. Whether and how salon chemicals could affect pregnancy or the developing fetus is another area that needs research, Prasse said.
The findings were published Jan. 24 in the Journal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology. More information The Environmental Working Group has a searchable database on ingredients in personal care products. Spotify Stock Up 12% After Q4 Earnings Report – Billboard

Spotify’s share price rose 12.7% to $112.71 on Tuesday (Jan. 31) following the company’s earnings release for 2022’s fourth quarter earlier in the day.

Now with a market capitalization of $21.8 billion, Spotify has more than overcome the investor exodus following its underwhelming third-quarter earnings results. After delivering a weaker-than-expected gross margin on Oct. 25, Spotify’s share price fell 13% to $84.42 and bottomed out at $69.29 on Nov. 4. Tuesday’s closing price marked a 62.7% improvement in fewer than three months.

Investors want Spotify to continue adding subscribers while improving its margins. Tuesday’s earnings results delivered on both fronts. Its fourth-quarter subscriber growth of 10 million handily beat guidance of 7 million, giving the company 205 million subscribers globally. The company’s monthly active user base of 489 million was 10 million ahead of guidance.

In the fourth quarter, Spotify’s gross margin of 25.3% was 80 basis points — eight-tenths of a percentage point — above guidance “due primarily to lower podcast spend along with broad-based favorability in our core music business,” said CFO Paul Vogel during Tuesday’s earnings call.

Spotify’s licensing deals with record labels and publishers give it little room for improvement on recorded music margins, which were 28% in 2021. Podcasting, however, gives Spotify an opportunity to attract advertising dollars with meaningfully better margins. During a June 2022 presentation to investors, Spotify executives said they expect podcast margins to reach 30-35% within three gaming to five years and 40-50% further in the future.

Just last week, investors were shown a new commitment to cost-cutting when Spotify announced on Jan. 23 that it would lay off 6% of its global headcount. Among the departures — though technically not part of the layoffs — was chief content officer Dawn Ostroff, the engineer of the company’s strategy to build its podcast business by attracting marquee names such as Joe Rogan, Kim Kardashian and Barack and Michelle Obama. Her exit could signal an end to an era of expensive content deals that helped make Spotify the most popular podcast platform in many markets.

For the first quarter of 2023, Spotify forecasts 3.1 billion euros ($3.37 billion) of total revenue and gross margins of roughly 25% excluding severance charges, and an operating loss of 194 million euros ($211 million), including 35 million euros to 45 million euros ($38 million to $49 million) in severance charges.

“Gross margins and operating expenses are expected to improve throughout the year,” said Vogel, adding that first-quarter margins will be the low point for 2023 because “some of the investments we made in the back half of [2022] is still slightly impacting Q1.” In addition, with the recent 6% reduction in headcount, “we see our operating expenses growing slower with a material improvement in our operating loss compared with 2022,” he added.

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris to attend Tyre Nichols’ funeral in Memphis – National

Vice President Kamala Harris plans to attend the funeral of Tyre Nichols, who died three days after he was beaten by Memphis police officers just minutes from his home, the White House said Tuesday. Harris was invited to attend Wednesday’s funeral services by Nichols’ mother and stepfather, RowVaughn Wells and Rodney Wells, according to Harris’s press secretary, Kirsten Allen. Harris spoke by phone with the Wells family on Tuesday, expressing her condolences and offering her support. President Joe Biden spoke by phone to Nichols’ family last week.
Harris will be joined by former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, a senior adviser to the president for public engagement, and Mitch Landrieu, a White House senior advisor and infrastructure implementation coordinator, who is a former mayor of New Orleans, Allen said. Five Black officers have been fired and charged with second-degree murder and other offenses in Nichols’ Jan. 7 beating and subsequent death. Video of the beating, which was released publicly last week, shows that many more people failed to help Nichols, who was also Black, beyond the five officers charged in his death.
Two more Memphis police officers have been disciplined and three emergency responders fired in connection with Nichols’ death, officials said Monday. Officer Preston Hemphill, who is white, and another officer whose name wasn’t released, have been suspended, police said.
Nichols’ family, the Rev. Al Sharpton and attorney Ben Crump had planned to gather Tuesday evening at the historic Mason Temple in Memphis _ where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his final speech the night before he was assassinated _ to speak about the latest developments in the case. But bad weather caused them to cancel that event.
Six of the officers involved were part of the so-called Scorpion unit, which targeted violent criminals in high-crime areas. Other Memphis residents who say they also were “brutalized” by officers in the unit will also speak at Mason Temple, according to a statement from Crump. 2:06 Footage of Tyre Nichols’ death sparks calls for federal police reform in the U.S. Police Chief Cerelyn “CJ” Davis said after the video’s release that the unit has been disbanded.

“It’s a step in the right direction, but due to the severity of the situation it’s not enough,” Damion Carrick said as he participated in a protest Monday evening at Shelby Farms Park. “You got a man dragged out of his car, beaten senseless, to a pulp and nobody doing nothing about it. It’s heartbreaking.”
Nichols’ death was the latest in a string of early accounts by police about their use of force that were later shown to have minimized or omitted violent and sometimes deadly encounters. Trending Now Memphis Police Department officers used a stun gun, a baton and their fists as they pummeled Nichols during the fitness nighttime arrest. Video shows Nichols running away from officers toward his house after he was pulled over on suspicion of reckless driving. The video footage released Friday shows the 29-year-old father calling for his mother and struggling with his injuries as he sits helpless on the pavement. 2:15 Millions demand justice for Tyre Nichols across the U.S. The five officers chatted and milled about for several minutes as Nichols remained on the ground, but other authorities were on the scene. Two Shelby County sheriff’s deputies also have been suspended without pay while their conduct is investigated.

Nichols’ older brother, Jamal Dupree, told CNN’s Don Lemon on Tuesday that he feels guilty because he wasn’t there to protect his younger sibling.
“I’m 99% sure that my brother has never gotten into a fight before. And the one time he got into an altercation with other humans, we wasn’t there to protect him. My brother was trying to cooperate with them,” Dupree, who lives in California, said of the Memphis officers.
Dupree said he hasn’t watched the police video. “I already knew how they treated him because I’ve seen it all over the world,” Dupree said. “Police brutality is nothing new. I already knew they treated my brother like an animal. They treated him like he was nothing. I don’t have to watch the video to know that.”
He said he has seen reports about his brother and thinks other people are learning about who he was as a person.
“I think people really know my brother did not deserve this,” he told CNN. “He was not that type of person. Yeah, he was just a good guy around the board. … We want justice.”
Nichols’ sister, Keyana Dixon, was among more than 100 friends, family and supporters who gathered for a candlelight vigil Monday night at a skate park in Sacramento, where Nichols grew up, The Sacramento Bee reported.

A childhood friend, Ryan Wilson, said he met Nichols at a skate park when he was 12 and they became fast friends, sharing their dreams for the future. Nichols had some struggles while young, but he focused on making others happy, Wilson said.
“I just feel like all he wanted to do was find his place in this world, and he just wanted to be happy,” Wilson said.
RowVaughn and Rodney Wells have accepted an invitation to attend President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address next week at the Capitol. They will attend with Rep. Steven Horsford, a Nevada Democrat and chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, according to Vincent Evans, a spokesperson for the caucus.

U.S. Parents Face Big Disparities in Access to Autism Care Services

By Amy Norton  HealthDay Reporter MONDAY, Jan. 30, 2023 (HealthDay News) — Autism services are harder to find in many of the places where Black, Hispanic and Native American families live, new research shows.
It’s known that there are racial disparities in U.S. families’ receipt of autism services — ranging from diagnosis and behavioral therapy to school and community programs.
The new study highlights travel one reason: Those services are simply more scarce in the communities where Black, Hispanic and Native American families live. It also points to specific geographic regions in the United States where disparities are most stark.
That could help in targeting resources to the areas in greatest need, according to the researchers.
“It’s a simple study that essentially creates a map,” said senior researcher Dennis Wall, a professor of pediatrics at Stanford University. “But it’s a good start.”
Autism is a developmental brain disorder that, to varying degrees, impairs communication and social skills. In the United States, about 1 in 44 children has the disorder, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There are various approaches to helping kids with autism, including therapies that focus on certain behaviors or speech and language skills, as well as special education offered at schools.
The earlier a young child is diagnosed and the sooner families can get those services, the better, Wall said.
However, studies have found that compared with their white counterparts, minority children with autism are less likely to receive such services.
Exactly how geography — or where people live — fits in has been unclear.
So, for their study, Wall and his team pulled together data on autism services nationwide and looked at the prevalence of those resources within smaller geographic areas — each containing one or more counties centered around a population “nucleus.”
That covered more than 530,000 children aged 5 to 18 with a confirmed autism diagnosis, based on government statistics.
Nationally, the study found, Native American, Black and Hispanic children with autism had access to fewer services per child, versus white kids. Asian children, meanwhile, had the greatest access. There were some differences, Wall said, based on where kids lived. In larger, metropolitan areas, for example, only Hispanic children had access to fewer services in comparison to white children; in smaller, “micropolitan” areas, both Hispanic children and Black children were underserved.
The researchers were also able to assemble a map showing where in the U.S. autism services tend to cluster, and where they are scarce. In general, scarcity often went hand-in-hand with the area’s racial and ethnic makeup.
For example, in the Rio Grande City-Roma area of Texas, nearly all children with autism were Hispanic. And the number of autism services per child in that area was 10 times less than what was typical nationwide.
The study gets at one reason driving racial and ethnic disparities in receipt of autism services, according to Sandy Magaña, a professor of autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities at the University of Texas at Austin.
Geography is only one factor, though. This study looked at access — and not whether families did or did not receive autism services. That may further depend on whether they have health insurance, or financial resources in general, both Magaña and Wall said. For Hispanic families, Magaña noted, language barriers, knowledge about the services available (particularly for immigrant families) and discrimination could all play a role, too.
Vijay Vasudevan is director of data science and evaluation research at the nonprofit Autism Speaks. He said that one part of the solution could be “telehealth” services.
“Since the start of the pandemic, telehealth services have become more prevalent and available to families, offering those who may reside in a ‘resource desert’ — such as a rural or minority community — greater opportunity to access services,” Vasudevan said.
Autism Speaks has developed some “virtual tools,” he said, including a screening questionnaire for signs of autism in toddlers, and a skills training program for parents and other caregivers.
Wall agreed that telehealth services “could help a lot.”
Magaña pointed to additional solutions, like giving autism service providers incentives to “set up shop” in underserved parts of the country, and making sure that Medicaid programs in every state cover autism services. “Empowering families from minoritized populations to advocate for their children at the community and policy levels is another important approach,” Magaña said. “Policymakers are more likely to listen if there are people pushing them to pay attention.”
The findings were published online Jan. 23 in JAMA Network Open. More information The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has more on accessing autism services. GoldenEye Bunker 1 walkthrough, including copying the GoldenEye key

On GoldenEye 007 mission 2-2, “Bunker 1,” you’ll enter a satellite control bunker to gather intel on enemy plans. It’s your job to copy the GoldenEye key, photograph the main video screen, and escape the bunker in one piece.

Depending on the difficulty setting you’re playing on, you may have to disrupt all of the surveillance equipment, get personnel to activate the computer, and download data from said computer. Follow along our step-by-step GoldenEye 007 Bunker 1 walkthrough to easily complete each objective.

Looking for more help? Check out our previous GoldenEye 007 walkthroughs for Dam and Facility.

Tips before starting ‘Bunker 1’ in GoldenEye 007

  • Try to conserve your ammo as much as possible, as tougher enemies will appear later in the level.
  • In the corridors and the control room, allow the enemies to come to you to easily pick them off.
  • Clear out all of the rooms before the control room to make sure no enemies flank you from behind.

Bunker 1 objectives

Depending on the difficulty, you can have up to five primary mission objectives to complete at the Bunker. The five objectives are as follows:

  • Obj. A: Disrupt all surveillance equipment (Secret Agent difficulty and above)
  • Obj. B: Copy the GoldenEye Key, leave the original (Agent difficulty and above)
  • Obj. C: Get personnel to activate the computer (00 Agent difficulty)
  • Obj. D: Download data from the computer (00 Agent difficulty)
  • Obj. E: Photograph the main video screen (Agent difficulty and above)

Disrupt all surveillance equipment

  1. Enter the room ahead of you and quickly take out the guards inside.
  2. Destroy the red alarm on the wall, and walk to the door on the left without opening it.
  3. Aim out of the right window, and shoot the surveillance camera with your silenced pistol.
  4. Open the door, and defeat any other enemies in the immediate vicinity.
  5. Head left down the corridor, and eliminate anyone who comes to you. To easily defeat everyone here, shoot one of the guards and retreat down the hallway. The other guards will funnel into the hallway — allowing you to easily pick them off.
  6. Take another left, and wait outside of the door on the left.
  7. Destroy the camera from the window, or quickly go inside the room and destroy the camera.
  8. Exit the room, and go around the left corner to find another camera.
  9. Destroy the camera, and defeat the three enemies at the end of the hallway.
  10. Turn around and proceed down the hallway until you reach the door on your left.
  11. Clear out this room of enemies, and return back to the hallway.
  12. Go left down the stairs, and enter the control room. There are a lot of enemies inside this area, so be prepared to take out a lot of guards.
  13. Wait near the entrance of the control room, and allow the enemies to come to you. Take them out one by one to easily clear out the room. There is an NPC in this room that you’ll need later on, so do not shoot the NPC.
  14. Go up the stairs diagonally across from you to find one more enemy and the last camera.
  15. Eliminate the enemy and destroy the camera to complete Objective A.

  1. While still in the command room, head to the table with a computer to the side of the video screen.
  2. Walk up to the table to grab the GoldenEye Key.
  3. Select the Key Analyzer in your inventory, and use it by pressing the fire button.
  4. Fire again to toss the key away — completing Objective B.

Activate the computer and download data from the computer

  1. Find Boris (he’s the NPC that you didn’t shoot earlier). He could still be in the control room, or he could have ran off through the door to the top of the stairs. If he ran up the stairs, be careful of two enemies who are waiting at the top. Try your best to not shoot Boris while taking out the two enemies.
  2. Aim a weapon at Boris to have him lead you to the mainframe terminal. An alarm will soon go off alerting more enemies to your position, so select the data analyzer in your inventory while Boris is “disabling the security.” This step completes Objective C.
  3. Look at the mainframe terminal and press the fire button with the data analyzer equipped to download the data from the computer — completing Objective D.
  4. Fight off the incoming soldiers. These enemies have more health than the others, so they are a little harder to take down.
  5. Return to the control room once all the enemies are defeated, and go through the door ahead of you.
  6. Go up the stairs and through the door at the top to complete Bunker 1.

That completes the Bunker portion of Mission 2: Severnaya.

Before moving on, be sure to check out this level’s GoldenEye 007 cheat, after having completed all of the objectives.

Description: If you have fatty liver, you are going to love this new diet and detox program that helps you naturally flush out liver fat, reduce fatigue, relieve inflammation, and finally lose those extra pounds.
First though, some bad news…
Nearly two BILLION people worldwide have a condition known as fatty liver disease, and the scary part is that most of them have no idea they have it!
A fatty liver takes years off your life. Even worse, it damages your quality of life by making you overweight and bloated, prematurely aging your skin and body, and forcing you to live with unnecessary pain and fatigue.
In fact, it’s become the number one health condition on the planet, and it’s getting worse every day, affecting nearly a third of all adults. But I promise, there’s a good chance you can do something about it, even if you were told otherwise.
That’s because around 80% of all fatty liver cases are reversible when you follow the right program. You may be able to naturally heal your body and significantly reduce your symptoms, just like I did.
Statistics say if you live in the US or Canada, there’s a 1 in 3 chance you have fatty liver, even if you were never formally diagnosed. If you experience ANY of these symptoms, your liver is literally crying for help…
If you answered yes to any of the above, and you are over age 45, there’s a higher than average chance you have fatty liver, which means this page was specifically written for you.
If you ignore liver problems, you risk making your condition worse, and increase your chance of getting something even more unwelcome down the road, like cirrhosis, diabetes, heart attack, stroke, even liver cancer.
I’m not trying to scare you, but this is serious, and you really want to take care of your liver, especially if you are overweight or have any physical pain. I didn’t figure out what was happening to me until after many months, and to be honest, it almost killed me.
Liver issues are NOT something you want to brush aside or “leave till later.” And believe me, they’re not going to fix themselves. You must take immediate action, because quite honestly, you may be living on borrowed time.
Fatty liver is the fastest growing medical condition in the world right now, even bigger than diabetes, which is pretty staggering.
It affects nearly 1/3 of all men and women, and can be found wherever there is an abundance of junk-food, stress, a sedentary lifestyle, and people living in a toxic environment.
That’s scary, because the liver is considered by many to be one of the most important organs in your entire body.
It filters and eliminates toxins like alcohol, pollution, preservatives, and chemicals from your blood, acting like a giant filter, keeping the inner workings of your body clean and pure.
You probably know that already, but you might not realize everything else your liver does, and how critical it is to your well being, health, even your looks…
Your liver performs over 400 different functions, which it normally does well… but there’s a kicker, and that’s when the fat content goes above 5% and it turns into fatty liver disease.
At that point, your body starts to go haywire and you experience such a long list of seemingly unrelated ailments, it’s hard to imagine they’re all being caused by the same thing.
I’ll say that again because it’s very important…
When the fat content of your liver gets over 5% (and many people are up in the 10% – 15% range) it’s stops working correctly, and you end up with a ton of health issues you can no longer ignore…
Vision problems, baggy eyes, fatigue, inflammation, insomnia, belly fat, joint-pain, abdominal cramps, and brittle hair to name just a few. All are symptoms of an unhealthy liver that’s literally clogged-up with fat.
There are multiple reasons so many people are getting fatty liver, but the biggest by far has to do with our modern-day, over-processed, preservative-filled diet. Food these days is cheap and convenient, but like your parents probably taught you, you get what you pay for.
You might save some money today, but the cost down the line is a poisoned liver, overloaded with fat, sugar, alcohol, and processed junk (not to mention additives, pesticides, and chemical preservatives).
When the liver becomes poisoned, two VERY BAD things happen…
1. Your body starts storing fat: If you’ve been wondering why you are gaining weight all of a sudden, a likely culprit is a fatty liver, which throws your blood sugar out of whack, and puts you at risk for inflammation, insulin resistance, and diabetes.
2. Your blood becomes toxic: When toxic blood travels to your other organs (heart, lungs, skin, and especially your brain), it poisons your entire body. That explains the mental fog, skin issues, high cholesterol, joint-pain, clogged arteries, and frequent headaches you may be experiencing.
If any of those things are happening to you, consider it a wake up call to finally do something about it, and an opportunity to get healthy.
You may have heard there’s no official cure for fatty liver. That’s what my doctor told me. But I assure you, in many cases, there is a safe and reliable way to reverse it, and heal your body at the same time.
I should know, because I did it myself, 100% naturally, without the need for any drugs or expensive doctors visits or starving myself on the latest fad diet.
And that LONG list of symptoms? They just disappear once you restore your liver function…
And of course there are many improvements you can’t see, but you know are happening nonetheless:
It’s really important for you figure this all out as soon as possible because…
Like I said before, the “official” story is that there’s no cure for fatty liver disease, which means you won’t get much help (or sympathy) from your doctor. In fact…
1. They might even blame you for your condition. When it comes to fatty liver, diabetes, heart problems, and weight issues, many doctors blame the patient, saying they have no self-control or they don’t exercise enough. The fact is though, most doctors refuse to admit how toxic our world has become, or how difficult it is to know which foods are actually healthy with all the conflicting information out there.2. Misdiagnosis is common. The symptoms and physical ailments caused by fatty liver are so widespread and can appear so unrelated that your doctor may try to treat your SYMPTOMS just to move you through the system (and out of their office). This could actually make you much WORSE because any drug they prescribe is just one more toxin your already struggling liver has to deal with.
3. The information you receive is generic and useless. That’s what happened with me… My doctor kind of shrugged his shoulders after diagnosing me and handed me a photocopied pamphlet with generic info that wasn’t even specific to my condition. There was nothing about how I got it or how to get rid of it.
My name is Susan Peters. I’m an author, internet researcher, and health advocate. In 2015, I was personally diagnosed with fatty liver, which to be honest shocked me.
I was never what you would consider fat. I always assumed my diet was good, and that my liver was healthy, but it turns out, I was wrong.
One morning, I woke up with a weird pain in my abdomen. I thought maybe I pulled a muscle working in the garden.
I tried to ignore it, but over the next month, it got more inflamed and the pain spread to my right shoulder. At that point, everything just seemed to snowball…
I had trouble sleeping, which made me tired and fatigued, and I started calling in sick because I couldn’t concentrate while I was at work.
Then the weight gain started, and before I knew it, I was up a whopping 31 pounds. I felt slow and bloated all the time, like my food wasn’t digesting. None of my clothes fit anymore, which made me depressed.
Even worse, my skin broke out like a teenager, and I started getting rashes on my hand, which I found out later were a form of low-grade eczema.
I knew something was wrong, because I had honestly never felt so bad in my life. But when I went in to see my doctor, he couldn’t figure it out either.
I ended up going through a battery of blood-tests, X-rays, examinations, and a very expensive CT scan to finally get the the bottom of it.
There are three main types of fatty liver disease people get…
Nearly 1/3 of the worlds population is affected by at least one of these, which means there’s a very good chance you have fatty liver, even if you were never formally diagnosed. The good news is that in many cases, fatty liver is a reversible condition, if you take care of it early.
I begged my doctor for help, but instead of giving me a treatment plan that would reverse the damage, or telling me how to start supporting my liver, he literally told me there was nothing he could do.
He offered to put me on medication, but admitted there were side-effects. Plus it would only help my symptoms, and not the root cause of the problem.
I don’t know about you, but I’m too young to just give up hope. I have a family that depends on me, and the thought of suffering from painful liver disease was simply too much.
So I decided to take my health into my own hands and do something about it before it was too late and my liver was permanently damaged…
I devoted the last few years to figuring out exactly why people get fatty liver and how to treat it naturally, without any dangerous or expensive drugs.
I interviewed patients, doctors, and specialists. I studied liver function and nutrition. And since I really had nothing to lose, I used myself as a test subject and tried every diet, cleanse, detox, supplement, and technique that seemed like it might actually work.
In spite of what my doctor told me, I discovered a very specific dietary program that thousands of people were already using to successfully treat their fatty liver.
It’s safe, and also extremely effective, because it deals with the root cause of the problem instead of just the symptoms.
But that’s wasn’t all I learned…
The next time I saw him, he was shocked since not all his patients recover from liver problems like I did. He said it looked like I would be one of the lucky ones, but I knew better…
It was about me figuring out how to reverse my condition when my doctor couldn’t help. It was discovering the truth about why people get fatty liver, and ultimately, how to get rid of it.
Depending on what’s wrong with you and how advanced your condition is, there’s a very good chance you can heal yourself like I did. You can almost certainly lessen your pain, and possibly have a complete recovery.
Many people start feeling better in 2 – 4 weeks after following the steps I did. That’s because the liver is one of the few organs able to regenerate itself, and naturally reverse damage from your past.
When you understand how it works, you can get back to having a normal life again, without drugs or fatigue or any of the painful complications that fatty liver brings.
Since I began this journey, I’ve met hundreds of other people who achieved the same thing.
Over the past few years, I’ve studied fatty liver intently, why people get it, and how they can get rid of it. I was even able to reverse my own condition. I was surprised there was nothing available to help people who have this, especially since it’s so widespread.
So I took everything I learned, and with my friend and co-author Jonathan Mizel, we released an easy-to-follow program called Reverse Your Fatty Liver . If you have any of those symptoms and want to experience relief, you will want to try this for yourself, because I believe it’s the best program on the market.
You’ll learn all that and more in the Reverse Your Fatty Liver program. When you get it, you will finally understand how to…
Stop spending your hard-earned money on pain medication, sleeping pills, energy drinks, skin cremes, or anything else to feel better.
You aren’t fixing the root cause, you are simply dealing with the symptoms. Your liver will keep getting worse, and you will need to take greater and greater doses just to get relief.
I should know. I spent thousands of dollars to COVER up my problems since I didn’t understand why they were happening in the first place.
It was only when I discovered the truth, how it occurs and how to naturally eliminate it, that I was able to get lasting relief, and finally feel like my old self again.
Listen, I don’t have super willpower or extra strength or anything special like that. All I had was a genuine desire to feel better and get back to my old life again.
If you sincerely want that too, this program was created specifically for you. It can help you improve your health across the board. You’ll look better and feel better and possibly add years to your life.
In fact, there’s zero downside to getting this taken care of, especially if you have any of the symptoms listed above. That’s what this program shows you how to do. But don’t take it from me…
Below are some comments from real customers who experienced significant results from using our program…
This is an amazing program that really works! My last blood work showed improvement and my doctor advised me to continue what I’m doing to completely heal my liver.
Hey guys, not any good at writing a testimonial but I can fitness tell you that I’ve lost 28 lbs, the pain is going away, off all my meds and I feel better than I’ve felt in a long time. Plus I have more energy than ever before. Thank you so much!
When I thought I had no way to feel better and all hope was lost I found something that really works! I Love how easy it is to get back to a healthy way of living; energy, no aches and pains any more. Appreciate this information so much, doctors didn’t tell me this!
Been doing 1 month and down 9 lbs and feel so much better! My hot flashes have gone away and I sleep all night, something I haven’t done in years. So, Thank You!
I was diagnosed with a fatty liver 7 months ago and became very alarmed as my father passed away from non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. I was scared and asked the doctor if it could be reversed and she said no. Today I found out my levels are completely normal The doctor was really surprised at my quick progress. “What have you been doing!”
I shared just a few things from your program and told her anyone who is diagnosed with a fatty liver should read it. I have also lost weight consistently from the day I started and am down 43 pounds and 20% of my body weight. My ALT went from 66 in late November to 27 now (early June). My AST went from 81 to 25! Amazing! My balance is better, I’m not tired all the time and I have a new zest for the simple things in life. So once more, THANK YOU!
I followed the Reverse Your Fatty Liver diet for 3 months and have lost 20 lbs. My liver enzymes are normal, and my cholesterol is down 83 points. It works.
Results not typical, your experience may vary.
I personally spent thousands on tests, treatments, cleanses, classes, books, nutrition coaches, and supplements, trying to figure everything out.
To be honest, I would have spent much more if I had to. You really can’t put a price on health and happiness and well-being and increased life expectancy.
That’s a small fraction of what you would spend researching all this on your own, and figuring out for yourself what really works. You get to benefit from my years of experience, and the same system that helped me get my health (and life) back.
Fixing your fatty liver is NOT impossible, heck, it’s not even that hard if you have a system to follow. Unlike what you may have been told, there is a natural treatment program that really works, and that thousands of people are currently using to feel better and reverse their condition.
But you must take care of this now. If you have any symptoms at all, you do NOT want to wait until your fatty liver turns into cirrhosis or liver cancer. The longer you put this off, the harder it’s going to be to recover, and at a certain point, you could even need a liver transplant.
Please don’t wait that long!

My wife was diagnosed with a fatter liver. After two visits and stays in the hospital over a three month period we were more frustrated than anything. The doctors gave little advise that was meaningful and or useful. In fact a lot of the information was contradicted between the two visits.
We felt like we were on our own and couldn’t believe how little information the medical profession provided us. The Reverse Fatty Liver resource has been a gift from the Universe! It is a roadmap to health, and a restoration of a life worth living. If you are confused with regards to where to go to get great advice on achieving a healthy liver and taking control of your own health, well look no further.
This is the “Bible” for liver health! I cannot thank the team at Reverse Fatty Liver enough, you have been so kind, generous and helpful. You have given my wife and I hope, and more importantly tangible results in liver health and liver “rebirth”. If you have any hesitation regarding investing in this resource, stop, take a breath and make the most wonderful investment in your life and health that you ever could!
I’m doing much better, I had tests done last week and my liver is healthy again!
Clients and colleagues are asking me about the changes I have made in my lifestyle. I lost 70lbs in 5 months, am eating better, and have seen a decrease in menopause symptoms. The only down size is that I have to get new clothes as my clothes from last year fall off me. I am happy to share your product with people that ask, and and encourage them to get this.
Since being on the program, I lost 20 pounds and my blood work was normal. In fact my Doctor said my blood test was the best he has ever seen. Thank you for your information and diet knowledge, and your support.
I thought you might like an update from a very happy customer. My doctor sent me the results of my latest bloodwork yesterday & had this to say:
‘Bloodwork was terrific with normal Liver Function test. A1C was down to 5.6. Keep up the fantastic work!’
Woo hoo! My A1C was 6.9 in March and I don’t know the # on my liver test in March but the doctor was very concerned about it that’s why I started on your program. So I’m one happy older lady who’s greatly benefited and lost 43 pounds.
Loved the schedule, that was awesome as i love structure, and that has helped a lot, along with giving the list of good foods. Highly recommend to anyone who cares about their liver health.

In “A Movement in Every Direction,” Artists Reflect on Great Migration – ARTnews.com

In 2021 New York Times columnist Charles Blow wrote an op-ed about his move from New York to Atlanta, arguing for others to follow him on a path that has been called a “second Great Migration.” He was referring, of course, to the historical period between the 1910s and 1970s, during which millions of Black Americans moved from the South throughout the United States, seeking greater economic and political opportunity. While that movement was driven largely by increasing factory jobs in the North and dire conditions in the South, the patterns of relocation during this period also included shifts to the rest of the states. Mounted during a now decades-long pattern of Black Americans returning to the South—whether to gain political majorities, as Blow advocates, or find different communities and opportunities—the exhibition “A Movement in Every Direction: Legacies of the Great Migration” illustrated this history through commissioned works by 12 contemporary artists. Related Articles Curated by Jessica Bell Brown of the Baltimore Museum of Art and Ryan Dennis of the Mississippi Museum of Art, the show started in Jackson, Mississippi, and traveled this past fall to Baltimore. Its second iteration opened with abstraction, pairing a sculpture by Torkwase Dyson with a painting by Mark Bradford. Dyson’s sculpture comprises four black trapezoidal prisms nearly 7 feet tall made of steel and glass, arranged symmetrically on the floor; connected by black steel armatures, they suggest an ancient navigational tool, and evoke the movement of the show’s title. Each shape tapers toward its opposite, and, as one walks around them, their tones shift, manifesting both reflection and transparency. Bradford’s painting is a grid of vibrant yellow and black panels, based on an advertisement from a 1913 issue of the NAACP magazine The Crisis that sought Black families to move to Blackdom, New Mexico. This archival record, reproduced on each panel with raised lettering made with a caulking gun, is evident only on close inspection. From afar, the piece seems to depict flickers of fire glowing in the night sky. View of “A Movement in Every Direction: Legacies of the Great Migration,” 2022–23, at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Photo Mitro Hood Whether an invitation to a utopian future or the trace of a faded memory, many works that were on view point to a community whose distance from the present is emphasized through abstraction, a formal strategy that can reduce images to their most basic elements. As with an object moving toward a horizon, historical distance can reduce evident detail. Leslie Hewitt’s three minimal sculptures from 2022, which were spread throughout the exhibition, for example, are small geometric forms made of wood, metal, and glass that echo the fragmented architectural contours of her grandmother’s family’s home in Macon, Georgia—a domestic space that also served the community as an upholstery shop and grocery store. Disconnected from each other, and from the site to which they allude, these shapes, like Dyson’s, evoke migration as a state in which a subject feels abstracted from a place of origin. Many artists in the show alluded to the racial dynamics of architecture and urbanism. Zoë Charlton’s sculptural installation Permanent Change of Station (2022) includes, within a large drawing and sculpture, a drawn depiction of an aerial view of Levittown, Pennsylvania, a 1950s planned community famous for excluding African Americans. Allison Janae Hamilton’s three-channel video installation A House Called Florida (2022) centers on a seemingly haunted house in a region of northern Florida referred to as the Forgotten Coast, vulnerable to hurricanes and flooding. The ghostly presence in Hamilton’s video might be the specter of all those who left during the Great Migration, after the frustrations of failed land ownership efforts like the Southern Homestead Act of 1866. Finally, The Double Wide (2022), a sculptural installation in which Theaster Gates pays homage to his uncle’s trailer in Mississippi, features framed family photographs, rows of jarred pickles, and a two-channel video depicting a performance by Gates’s ensemble, The Black Monks. A candy store in the daytime and a juke joint by night, this double-wide, like Hewitt’s grandmother’s house, was an example of the multivalent innovations of Southern Black architecture. The play of language in Hewitt’s titles—each includes the terms slow drag, barely moving, and imperceptible in a different order—relates to the performative use of language in A*ray (2022), a video installation by Steffani Jemison that features Lakia Black, a TikTok performer from Alabama. In one scene we see her working with an acting teacher to broaden her emotional range. She says, “Just wait till you see where I news go next” with sadness, then with jealousy, then with bitterness. The phrase, repeated again and again and again, suggests the internal monologue of someone making a trek away from home. But the work also implies that first-person narratives are an important component of the historical record. Storytelling is at the center of Robert Pruitt’s monumental drawing A Song for Travelers (2022), which depicts 16 people gathered around a central figure who is wearing a costume inspired by ceramics in the Texas Southern University collection. The composition is based on a candid ca. 1980 photograph of a Pruitt family backyard gathering; the artist has inserted additional details alluding to stories about his family’s migration from rural Texas to Houston. Though the narratives are indirectly conveyed, their drama is evident in the characters’ fantastical costumes, inspired by archival images of church choir members, Masons, soldiers, and civil rights leaders. Their story highlights the fact that the Great Migration did not just include moves from the South to other parts of the US, but also from rural to urban centers within the South. Robert Pruitt: A Song for Travelers, 2022, charcoal, conté crayon, and pastel on paper mounted on aluminum, 7 by 20 feet. Courtesy the artist and Koplin Del Rio Gallery Concluding the exhibition was a powerful and more purely narrative work, Leave! Leave Now! (2022) by Carrie Mae Weems, a video installation resembling an old theater in which the artist and her sister tell the story of their grandfather Frank, who was a member of the Southern Tenant Farmers’ Union, and worked on land in Arkansas. After he was attacked by racist union busters and almost beaten to death, he fled to Chicago on foot. Red velvet curtains come to read as tinged with the violence of this tale, while a trick projection conjures the uncanny presence of her relative. Weems’s work was key to the show: it shares a story of how and why people fueled the Great Migration without resorting to archival materials or aesthetics. (The curators instead published a critical reader that compiles primary documents.) As an exhibition reflecting on a history and legacy, “A Movement in Every Direction” brought together artists who act like historians but blur the boundary between the institutional and the personal. Their works make up a collective archive that is shifting in form: The body is an archive. Architecture is an archive. Language is an archive. History is lived by people, and this exhibition gave us an opportunity to track the Great Migration’s impact through stories told by artists it shaped.

To kick off the evening, The Kid LAROI delivered a surprise acoustic performance of his Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping Justin Bieber collaboration, “Stay.” He went on to accept the Excellence in Music award by the evening’s host, Angela Bishop, with his parents in attendance in the crowd. “I’m not really a big award guy, but I will say this is something I’m really honored to take, not just because it’s really cool, but I have both news of my parents here tonight,” the 19-year-old New South Wales native told the audience. “I’m pretty shy, I don’t like doing this type of stuff, but I’m doing this for them because I know this makes them really really proud.”

Later on in the evening, supermodel Miranda Kerr was presented with the Excellence in Arts award, given to her by her friend Katy Perry, who also happens to be married to Kerr’s ex-husband Orlando Bloom. “Many of you may be confused as to why I’m presenting Miranda with this award,” Perry said during her presentation. “It doesn’t fit the ex-wife, new wife narrative. Many in the media would like to see us mud wrestle, but this is about love, and Miranda is love.”

“I’m here to present the Excellence in Arts award to my sister from another mister, my health and wellness guru, and the heart of our family, Miranda Kerr,” she added.

Hoor Al Qasimi of the Sharjah Art Foundation – ARTnews.com

For the annual Art in America Guide, published in print in January, the editors spoke to five directors of notable museums and institutions—Adriano Pedrosa of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo; Ibrahim Mahama of the Savannah Centre for Contemporary Art, Tamale, Ghana; Sharmini Pereira of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka; Hoor Al Qasimi of the Sharjah Art Foundation; and Roobina Karode of the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi—about their work in and around the Global South. Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi founded the Sharjah Art Foundation, where she now serves as director, in 2009. The organization—with its closely watched Sharjah Biennial, commitment to regional artists and audiences, and rigorous evolving program—has become a model for institution-building in the Global South. Below, the Emirati royal shares her vision for the Foundation and talks about curating this year’s edition of the biennial.  Related Articles Growing up in Sharjah, I witnessed a lot of cultural activities. But when I saw Okwui Enwezor’s Documenta in 2002, it inspired my commitment to relentless experimenting. I want to cultivate a space where creators, thinkers, and young people can come together. With everything we do, we start small, and then grow from feedback we get from the public and from artists. For example, Focal Point, which started as a booth at the fashion Sharjah International Book Fair, has become a huge event of its own. It began with the desire to share artists’s books and other work by small publishers, and now it draws huge crowds, including whole families, and causes traffic jams.  I run the Foundation with public money, so the local community is always my first thought. I want to be sensitive to the needs of people here, because they are my audience all year round; the international art world comes and goes, but its members aren’t stakeholders in the same way. The organization collaborates with other institutions; right now, we are presenting a show by Sudanese painter Kamala Ibrahim Ishag at the Serpentine in London [through January 29]. A lot of institutions in the West have robust systems of patronage and support for the arts, but we don’t really have that here, so my work is about supporting the artists. I don’t care who wants to put their name on a commission or if it gets shown in Venice before it comes here. Institutions should be working together and sharing the credit and resources. I’ve emphasized collaboration throughout my presidency of the International Biennial Association: we should commission works together, without fussing over who shows it first.  Now we’re in full install mode for the biennial, which will take place in five cities in Sharjah. The Foundation grew out of the biennial, but I realized that our year-round commitments weren’t always obvious to biennial visitors. We host workshops and courses in seven towns in Sharjah, and I want those towns to be a visible part of what we’re doing. I’m always striving to decenter the biennial. Some people might say “oh, such and such is too far.” I find that frustrating: too far for whom? There are people who live there! We’re also renovating several buildings throughout the emirate and showing work there. I’ve banned the word “off-site” in our office; there is no such thing.  In addition to the fair, biennial, and exhibitions, we host residencies for artists, curators, and musicians. Our newest initiative is a performance festival, Perform Sharjah. I got Air Arabia to sponsor the curatorial residency, because I wanted it to be regional, but I asked myself, what is our region? So I looked at the flight map of Air Arabia, which is a budget airline, and I decided, well, that’s a region! We have an annual photography show that’s in its 10th edition now, as well as an architecture triennial. We decided to build the Africa Institute on the basis of recommendations made by the African-Arab Symposium in 1976. I’m lucky to have had support from my father and from the government of Sharjah to do all this. I don’t really experience pushback or censorship. For me, my community is most important. If I was just acting for myself, I could go open a gallery in New York or London, or whatever. I’ve been working for the Foundation and its predecessor for 20 years now, and my dad asked me what I’m going to do to celebrate. I said: the biennial! Scorpion Unit Emerged as Memphis Police Pursued Get-Tough Strategy

Just a few days after the Scorpion unit was unveiled, one local television report noted that the Memphis police credited it with making more than 30 arrests, and seizing at least 29 guns and nearly 170 grams of marijuana. More on the Death of Tyre Nichols Scorpion’s supposed successes became a talking point for city officials, including Mayor Jim Strickland, who highlighted the unit during his January 2022 State of the City speech and listed its early accomplishments: 566 arrests, 390 of them for felonies, as well as seizures of $103,000 in cash, 270 vehicles and 253 weapons.
As she marked her one-year anniversary on the job in May 2022, Chief Davis gave a presentation to the City Council in which she noted some progress in curtailing crime. In a slide titled “CRIME REDUCTION,” the Scorpion unit was her first bullet point.
“We created the new Scorpion unit,” she said, adding: “This unit basically targets some of the hot-spot areas where we saw frequent aggravated assaults and high crime.”
Like much of the country, Memphis had seen its homicide numbers jump in 2020 and 2021. Those numbers eased somewhat last year, but it was not clear how much credit could be given to the Scorpion unit, as many cities also saw declines in 2022. Memphis recorded a rise in property crimes last year.
Some activists and community members had been wary about the operations of the Scorpion unit long before the attack on Mr. Nichols.
Hunter Dempster, an organizer with Decarcerate Memphis, a news group pushing for accountability in the criminal justice system, said on Sunday that his organization has long been warning about the Scorpion team. He said the unit’s main mission had appeared to be conducting mass pullovers in poor neighborhoods that are home to many people of color.

Tesla Model S Bursts Into Flames in California on Highway

A Tesla Model S burst into flames on Saturday while fashion the driver was on a highway outside Sacramento, forcing authorities to bring in significant manpower and thousands of gallons of water to get the fire under control.
The Metro Fire of Sacramento said the driver of the Model S was traveling at highway speeds on US 50 when they noticed heavy black smoke coming out of the undercarriage. Although the driver managed to pull over and safely get out of the car, the fire became more intense and continued to spread to the front end of the Model S. No one was injured in the fire.
Upon arriving at the scene, Metro Fire Sacramento determined the incident had been caused by a battery fire. Authorities said that the Model S had not sustained damage before the fire.
“Crews worked for over an hour and utilized approximately 6,000 gallons [22,700 liters] of water from 3 fire engines and a water tender for full extinguishment as recommended in the Tesla emergency procedures manual,” Metro Fire Sacramento said in a Facebook post. G/O Media may get a commission While that might seem like an flabbergasting amount of water for a car battery fire, the lithium ion batteries in Teslas and other electric vehicles are trickier to put out and require more resources. When lithium ion batteries catch fire, they burn hotter and faster, as noted by CNBC . In addition, lithium ion batteries can reignite multiple times hours or even days after the original fire.
For reference, Metro Fire Sacramento pointed out that a non-electric car with a traditional combustion engine can be put out with about 700 gallons of water, which is the supply of a single fire engine.
“Modern technology evolution requires continuous advancements in modern firefighting techniques that are currently being evaluated for efficiency,” Metro Fire Sacramento said.
